The use of our services generally requires adding the appropriate servers to the MX or NS records in a domain’s DNS configuration. If you have questions please contact us.
Paid Accounts
Paid accounts (Personal level and above) are permitted to reassign our IP addresses to other DNS names instead of using our rollernet.us names. An example would be using NS records of “ns1.example.com” in place of “ns1.rollernet.us” where “ns1.example.com” is given the IP address of “ns1.rollernet.us”. We understand that many of our customers want to integrate our services into an existing naming structure.
If you choose to do this you are responsible for maintaining the reassigned DNS records. It is highly unlikely that we would change the IP addresses of any of our servers; our address space is a direct assignment from ARIN, not part of another ISP. However, it is conceivable that we could execute an IP change in the event of a DDoS severe enough forcing us to blackhole the address (or addresses) under attack. Please ensure that your account contact level is “System notices only” or “You can contact me” as accounts set to “Do not contact me” would not be notified.
Free Accounts
Free accounts (Basic level) are not permitted to reassign our IP addresses. Free accounts are expected to give us credit in exchange for free services by using the rollernet.us names. Domains associated with free accounts that do not use rollernet.us names for MX or NS records may be subject to automatic deactivation until the permitted names are used. If you are unable to meet this requirement for any reason, a paid account is required.
